Former New People’s Army (NPA) commander Alias “Boyet,” who used to head the NPA in the area of Central Luzon, voluntarily surrendered to the government and availed of the benefits being offered to former communist rebels.
Boyet was a member of the NPA since 1979 and operated in the boundaries of Bataan, Zambales and Pampanga.
Col. Jose Mabanta Jr., commander of the 703rd Infantry Battalion of the Philippine Army, said that among the benefits alias “Boyet” will receive include livelihood, adding that 22 high-powered firearms had been surrendered to the government.
