After conquering the K-pop scene in 2009, nine-member all-girl group Girls Generation (a.k.a. So Nyeo Shi Dae) will launch their new album titled “Oh” on Jan. 28.

The carrier single, which is also the album’s title track, topped the online music chart on Monkey3 in just 10 minutes after its release on Monday (Jan. 25).

“Even though we already predicted that the new track would reach number one, we were curious as to how fast it would rise to number one," according to a Monkey3 representative, based on a post on Girls Generation fan site "Soshified."

The representative added that the song was better received than Girls Generation’s “Tell Me Your Wish,” the carrier single of the group’s previous album.

“Oh,” an electronic pop song with catchy lyrics, will be performed by the Girls Generation for the first time on Feb. 30 on MBC’s “Music Core” TV program.

The girl group is also preparing for their first performance at the Seoul Olympic Park on Feb. 27-28.

Last year, the group dominated the K-pop scene with a slew of awards including the Digital Daesang and Digital Bonsang Awards at the 24th Golden Disk Awards as well as Artist of the Year, Song of the Year, and 2009 Odyssey awards at the 1st Melon Awards.

Early this month, Girls Generation received the Best Female Group award at the 16th Annual Korea Entertainment Arts Awards Ceremony and Content Industry Award from Korea’s Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
