Ai Ai de las Alas on her newfound love: ‘He’s handsome.’

Ai Ai delas Alas is inspired these days.

In a solo presscon on Jan. 27 for her forthcoming Valentine show “Ai Am Your Valentine” on Feb. 14 at the Tent City, Manila Hotel, she revealed the reason for her newfound glow—a Greek handball player, as it turned out.

Ai Ai visited her source of inspiration in Greece twice, the most recent of which was just a few weeks ago.   

“Hindi naman binabalikan. Gusto ko lang uling pumunta this time. Gusto kong ma-experience ang winter,” she explained. Her visit lasted only for three days.

“Ang talagang bakasyon ko kasi, two weeks. Nalungkot ako kasi biglang pumasok ang 'Pilipinas Got Talent.' Siyempre, uunahin ko muna ang career.”

Did she miss him much? 

“Hindi naman. Nagkataon lang na magbabakasyon ako. Hindi naman ako plastik, gusto ko rin siyang makita. Nagkataon lang na gusto ko ring ma-experience uli ang Greece,” she clarified.

When pressed to identify and describe her special friend, Ai Ai refused to do so.

“Wag na wag na nating siyang i-describe!” she wailed in protest. But she assured everyone in the press that he’s handsome. 

“Siyempre, pumapatol ba ako sa pangit? Handball player siya,” she added again, tellingly.

 The comedienne shared that their romance has not yet reached the serious stage. “Hindi pa naman love, papunta pa lang doon.”

Later, Ai Ai finally admitted why she had gone to Greece twice.

“Siyempre, may mga bagay na hindi natin maiiwasan. Alam mo kung bakit hindi siya makapunta ng Piipinas? Kasi ang papel niya ay working visa. Eh sa Greece, ang working visa, ang tagal lumabas. ‘Pag hindi lumabas ‘yon, hindi siya makakabalik sa Grece,” she explained.

Being in a long distance love affair, Ai Ai confessed, can be very taxing.

“Mahirap ang long distance love affair. Ngayon ko lang nalaman. Kaya pala 'yong iba nalulungkot.”

She thanks the advent of modern technology because it eases their communication. “Mabuti na lang may Skype. Ang Skype, bongga, 24 hours.”

She likewise reveals that her new inspiration has the blessings of her children.

"Okay lang naman sa kanila. Ayaw nila akong nalulungkot. Kung saan ako masaya, masaya na rin sila.”
