Nina on chance encounter with Nyoy Volante: ‘I couldn’t take it that he could still smile.’

Soul Siren Nina is still hurting over ex-boyfriend Nyoy Volante—not because she still pines for him, but because he is yet to settle the 1.4 million debt that he owes her.

The singer, who already filed a case against her former lover, admits to being frustrated with the seeming sluggishness of justice.

“That’s all I’ve been waiting for, all this time. I don’t know if justice is really that slow or if somebody is just causing its delay but I’m just waiting. I’m pretty sure—because I have all the papers, evidences to prove that they really borrowed money from me—that I have all the aces needed [to resolve the case in my favor].”

Nina reveals that she was especially hurt when she saw Nyoy recently looking unperturbed with the pending case.

"Actually, we had a chance encounter…I couldn’t take it that he could still smile or something, knowing that right in front of him is a person he had caused pain. Actually, it wasn’t a smile, it was like he was even grinning, like he has no problem at all having caused me so much pain.” 

Nina feels that Nyoy feels no remorse with all that transpired between them.

"None. Nothing whatsoever. Because if it were me, even from afar, if I see the person that I’ve hurt, I would be reticent…because you’ve hurt the person. I’d choose to walk the other way. But with him, it’s like there’s nothing.”
