2 cops ‘scare’ fully armed rob suspects
Two policemen, including a rookie, scared the wits out of seven fully armed holdup men Saturday noon when they intercepted the suspects and made them surrender without firing a shot in Valenzuela City.
Senior Supt. Ranier Idio, Valenzuela City police chief, said the policemen, identified as PO3 Nicolas Villano and PO1 Jeremy Bagtasos, were manning their post at Police Community Precinct 1 near the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) exit when they received a radio message that a plastic scrap firm has just been robbed.
Idio identified the company as the Asian Star Plastic Scrap located on Parada Road in Barangay Parada.
Despite the fact that there were only two of them at the precinct and were only armed with a shotgun and a 9 mm pistol, the two policemen ordered the suspects’ vehicle to stop.
Surpr isingly, the seven suspects did not resist and came out of their vehicle to surrender.
"Saka lang kami natakot nung sumuko sila at makita naming armado pala sila at marami," said the rookie policeman.
Idio said the group, whose identities are still being verified, could be remnants of the "Alvin Flores Gang."
