OLONGAPO CITY — The Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) arrested over the weekend at least four suspected top illegal drug pushers, including a woman, during an operation in Barangay Calapacuan, Subic, bringing to 11 the number of arrested drug pushers in two weeks, authorities here said.

Chief Insp. Rogelio Ponce Penones Jr., provincial officer of the Zambales CIDG, reported to Sr. Supt. Marvin Bolabola, Region 3 CIDG chief, that the arrested suspects were identified as Ernesto Butin, 47; Nerissa Vasquez, 35; Richard Ramos, 31; and Jeffrey Cabalan, 21; all residents of the said place.

Penones said the suspects who have long been in the CIDG’s watch list, were included in the list of target personalities allegedly engaged in illegal drug trafficking in Barangay Calapacuan, and neighboring towns.

In his report to Bolabola, Penones said all the suspects have been the object of complaints by residents along Gutierrez Street, Purok 3 for alleged illegal drug trade in the area.

He said the raiding team, composed of CIDG, Olongapo City Police Office, and Subic police personnel, initially collared Butin after he handed several sachets suspected to contain shabu to a poseur buyer.
