NBI to call Ivler house helpers in probe of Pollard
Three household helpers of road rage suspect Jason Ivler are set to be summoned this week by the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) as it continues its investigation on Ivler's stepdad and Asian Development Bank economist Stephen Pollard for allegedly coddling the suspect.
Angelito Magno, chief of the NBI-Special Action Unit (SAU), said Monday the statement of the three helpers will determine whether or not Pollard was indeed telling the truth that he was unaware that his stepson was hiding in their house during the time the authorities were hunting down the suspect.
“The statements of the three household helpers will help make or break Pollard and his statements,” he told the Manila Bulletin in an interview.
When asked on the identities of the three househelpers, Magno declined to divulge their names.
Magno said they learned in a chance interview with the household helpers during the actual raid that lots of changes were made by Marlene Aguilar -- mother of Ivler who is accused of "conniving" with her son -- inside their house in Blue Ridge Subdivision, Quezon City days before authorities launched a manhunt against the suspect.
The changes, according to Magno, included the schedule of work of household helpers as well as several arrangements allegedly made by Aguilar inside their house.
"Nalaman namin na nung pinaghahanap na si Ivler na bigla daw nagbago yung pag-uugali nung mag-asawa. May nakapagsabi na may mga lugar daw na pinagbawal na puntahan nung mga katulong at minsan daw ay pinapaalis sila sa bahay," he said.
