Angelica Panganiban sets the record straight regarding her bold statement on Jinkee Pacquiao’s rumored extra-closeness with her “yummy” boyfriend Derek Ramsay.

It is recalled that Angelica said in a recent interview—in true “Rubi” (name of the character she portrays on one ABS-CBN soap) style: “Kung gusto niya, eh ‘di siya. Try nga niya eh. Try niyong kalabanin si Rubi, mamumula rin ang leps niyo.”

The acclaimed actress explained on “The Buzz” that the statement was to hopefully stop all the gossip hurled at them.

“Wala naman talaga [silang relasyon]. Alam ko magkaibigan sila. Hindi ako naba-bother kaya lang tanong lang ng tanong ang mga tao.

“[Tapos] hindi sila masaya sa mga sagot ko na friends lang talaga sila. So nung sumagot ako nang ganun…baka huling interview ko na ‘to tungkol dun,” she said.

Although she is not friends with Pacman’s better half, Angelica shared that, according to Derek, Jinkee asks about her whenever they talk.

Being dubbed as two of the most desired celebrities in the country (as “The Buzz” host Boy Abunda regards both Angelica and Derek), the lovely “Primetime Gem” admitted it also has a flipside.

“Mahirap po. Lalo na siyempre ang guwapo kasi talaga ni Derek. Pinag-uusapan [din] naman [namin] na minsan mag-ingat kasi siyempre ‘di natin maaalis sa isang tao na maging friendly tayo,” she related.

And since wagging tongues go on hyperdrive in the world of showbiz, Angelica said she advised her hunk-beau: “'Di mo lang pangalan ‘to, tayong dalawa na 'yong nandito.”

While Derek previously admitted that he is not the jealous type, the “Banana Split” mainstay recalled that he found Sam Milby “cute.”

“'Di naman [siya] nagselos…nakyutan [lang] siya kay Sam. Dati pa ['yon] nung nag-work kami sa ‘Maging Sino Ka Man.’ Lambing lang niya 'yon. Ganun lang naman kami eh,” she said, beaming.

In a separate interview, Derek was caught speechless when host Ruffa Gutierrez asked him for a comment regarding his “yummy” label.

“I don’t know what to say,” was all he could muster.

Asked how he comforts his equally “yummy” girlfriend when she’s down, the Universal Leading Man shared, “With Angel, before she goes to sleep and she’s down, she’ll talk to me."
