It seems that Aljur Abrenica is not the only “Prince” in Kris Bernal’s heart.

The young star confessed during the recent press visit on the set of their fantaserye, “The Last Prince,” in Tanay, Rizal, that she has a crush on their newbie co-star, Daniel Matsunaga.

“Guwapo po talaga siya. Pero ‘di naman 'yong seryosohan na crush ko ‘to, [na] gusto ko ligawan ako nito. ‘Di naman po ganun,” Kris said of Daniel, who plays Prince Nicolai, a lost European prince bound to fall in love with her commoner character, Lara.

And uh-oh, Aljur knows.

“Kasi po inaasar-asar po ako ng mga tao eh. Inaasar-asar po ako ng mga staff, kaya siguro napansin niya,” she related.

The 20-year-old actress discounts the possibility that the Brapanese model-turned-actor would court her.

“Imposible naman po 'yon [na manligaw siya]. Magkaibigan lang po kami. At talaga pong paghanga lang [ang nararamdaman ko para sa kanya]. Ang bait-bait niya at talagang guwapo. ‘Pag ligaw, iba na 'yon. ‘Di ko na keri 'yon,” she said.

However, Kris said that she’s okay with falling for a foreigner. "Hindi naman po ako tumitingin sa lahi eh. Basta mabait tsaka malambing.”

Then she kidded: “'Wag lang sobrang tangkad. Ang tangkad ni Daniel eh! 6’1” siya, 5’1” lang ako!”

Still, the petite “StarStruck” Ultimate Survivor maintained that her perennial onscreen partner has the prettier face.

“Gusto ko kasi Pinoy talaga 'yong feature, and mas Pinoy si Aljur,” related Kris.

In a separate interview, Aljur admitted feeling a tinge of pain upon learning of Kris' crush on Daniel.

“Siyempre may konting kurot sa puso, pero alam ko na kasi dati pa. Sinabi na niya sa’kin na crush niya si Daniel. Cosmopolitan [Bachelor Bash days] pa lang, crush na niya talaga 'yon.

“Sabi ko, ‘ayos, ang galing mong pumili.’ Talagang model tapos guwapo, matangkad. Tapos mabait…wala akong masabi,” said the young actor.

He cleared, though, that there is no rivalry between him and Daniel, who, like him, ramped it up during the Cosmopolitan Bachelor Bash in 2009.

Aljur is even all praises for Daniel.

"Okay kami ni Daniel. Si Daniel off-cam mapagbiro rin at very approachable. Hindi mo masasabing suplado. Tapos talagang nakikita ko talaga na nag-aaral siya ng script kahit wala pa naman 'yong eksena niya. Pinag-aaralan niya talaga.

“Tsaka 'yong eagerness talaga niya na matuto, nandun. Nung tinanong namin siya kung anong mas gusto niya, acting o modeling, narinig ko sinagot niya acting eh. Nakakatuwa siya,” enthused “TLP”’s Prinsipe Almiro.

A real-life love triangle is unlikely for now, as the 21-year-old Daniel is currently dating a model, Francine Pantaleon.
