Dingdong and Karylle back in the days.

It doesn’t pay to seek help from an ex-girlfriend.

This heartthrob Dingdong Dantes must have realized when he reportedly sought the help of ex-GF, singer Karylle, when trying to thresh things up with the latter's mom, Zsa Zsa Padilla, and dad, Modesto Tatlonghari.

According to a source, Dingdong thought asking Karylle’s help would ease his problem.

He was wrong.

Reportedly, Karylle turned down Dingdong’s request to help him. She feels the actor should do it on his own now that they have gone on separate ways.

Early on, Dingdong hinted to reporters that he wanted to patch things up with Zsa Zsa.

The need to apologize reportedly stemmed from the time he was confronted by the Divine Diva at the time of his then-rumored romance with Marian Rivera.

His excuse? That it was all just a “promo.”

The promo, it turned out, was not what it all seemed. Dingdong and Marian’s romance is now an open book in local showbiz industry.

It started when they were still taping "Dyesebel"---and this is what Dingdong wanted to apologize about.

In his interview aired Jan. 14 on “Mornings @ ANC,” Dingdong said he wanted to thresh things out with Karylle, but he wanted to explain his side first to her parents Zsa Zsa and Mr. Tatlonghari.  

"Gusto kong mabati muna sila (Karylle’s parents). That's something I plan to do. It's something that I really want to do," Dingdong said suggesting that he is just bidding his time.

"Nothing is stopping me. It's just [that I'm waiting for] the right time," he said.

During her album launch last year, the Divine Diva shared that her house is still decked with photos of Karylle and Dingdong. It was partner Dolphy who brought her attention to the couple’s photos, saying, “Hoy, ba’t di mo pa tinatanggal ‘yan?”

At that time, Zsa Zsa is praying that she doesn’t create a scene when she sees Dingdong in any showbiz functions.

“Sometimes kasi, napo-provoke pa ako [to react],” she said.
