2 LP senatoriables confident of winning
Two senatoriables running under the Liberal Party wing of presidential aspirant Senator Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino Jr. expressed optimism that they will have a good chance of winning in the May elections despite going up against other seasoned candidates who are considered as bigwigs in politics.
During Wednesday’s Fernandina News Forum at the Club Filipino in Greenills, San Juan City, LP senatorial candidates lawyer Alexander Lacson and Dr. Martin Bautista, both considered neophytes in the political arena, expressed belief that they have got what it takes to win in the elections despite not having a big political machinery to back their campaign bids.
According to Lacson, although a lot of people still do not know who he is and his background, this does not stop him from getting the number 15th spot during a recent Pulse Asia survey.
He said this is a big accomplishment for him since there are some 58 candidates running for the same position with only 12 senatorial spots available.
“Based on the latest Pulse Asia survey, surprisingly out of 58 candidates for senators nag 15th place ako despite that fact na 33 percent lang ang awareness rate (sa akin). Mababa ang awareness rate ko pero ang trust rating, napakataas,” Lacson told reporters, adding that “awareness campaign na lang ang kulang ko.”
