Diether Ocampo doesn’t want a repeat of his failed marriage to actress Kristine Hermosa from a few years ago.

Is Diether Ocampo trying to keep the status of his relationship with Rima Ostwani a secret?

Speculations arose after Diet gave a very vague answer to a question alluding to the current score between him and Rima.

In a seeming "ambush interview" aired Feb. 3 on "Showbiz News Ngayon," Diet was caught blurting, “Sa amin na lang muna ito for the meantime.”

Is trouble a-brewing in their paradise? Is the existence of a so-called "third wheel" one of the reasons for his keeping mum about their relationship?

The actor was quick to refute the allegation. “Third party? Wala naman, wala.”

“Hindi naman ako kasal, so I guess I’m single,” he said.

A few weeks back, Diether and Rima supposedly split.

According to the grapevine, the breakup was initiated by Rima after getting an emphatic "no" for an answer after she asked Diet if he is marrying her this year.

Tongues started to wag after this was reported.

TV host Boy Abunda, who manages Rima's modeling career, belied the breakup rumor.

“I don’t think so,” Abunda was reported to have said when asked by reporters visiting the set of showbiz talk show SNN. 

A source told Manila Bulletin Entertainment Online that Diet and Rima’s romance is going great.

According to the source, Rima is all-out in supporting Diet’s endeavors and she personally attends to the actor’s needs when they attend social and socio-civic events.

In a previous interview, Diet said he’s not into rushing things, especially marriage. He doesn’t want a repeat of his failed marriage to actress Kristine Hermosa from a few years ago.    

"This time, we want to share it with everyone. Hindi naman siguro masamang ipaalam namin sa tao, dahil siyempre, kung maganda ang plano, bakit mo naman itatago," the actor said.

He was waxing ecstatic about Rima on the same interview.

"Noong ibinigay sa akin si Rima, sobra-sobra na 'yong ibinigay, so what more can I ask for?"
