Taylor and John: She's had failed relationships with Joe Jonas of The Jonas Brothers and actor Taylor Lautner; he, with singer-actress Jessica Simpson and Hollywood star Jennifer Aniston.

She was so young when she first saw him.

And yet, rumors abound that recent Grammy winner Taylor Swift is already dating her so-called “mentor,” heart breaker extraordinaire, John Mayer.

Talk about music and love having no boundaries, even age.

A recent report from Hollywoodlife.com says that the 20-year-old country superstar spent the night with the 32-year-old crooner in his suite at the Hermitage Hotel in Nashville, Tennessee.

“The couple went to the Hermitage Hotel…where they arrived in the loading dock to avoid being spotted and were escorted to John’s suite,” an identified source told In Touch magazine. “Taylor spent the night and enjoyed mid-morning room service before leaving his suite the next day.”

Reps of both parties denied the intimate rendezvous even occurred.

The two, known to be among celebs that are very much active in the social networking site Twitter, have also been very unusually—some might say suspiciously—“quiet” on their respective accounts about their much-buzzed about "relationship."
 
Now a source insists that "Taylor and John are absolutely more than 'just friends.’"

"They aren't 'boyfriend and girlfriend' or anything as provincial as that, but they have taken their friendship to the next level," the source added.

The “Your Body Is A Wonderland” singer is said to have been crushing “hard” on the blonde musician and have openly expressed his interest to work with her for some time.

The feeling is apparently mutual.

The “Love Story” singer admitted to Elle Magazine in an interview that she’s a big fan of the ladies’ man.

“I freaked out when I heard [John wanted to make a song with me], because I’ve been such a big fan of John for such a long time. I’m really excited about just the idea that he would even mention me in his Twitter!” she exclaimed.

The two eventually hooked up and sang together on “Half Of My Heart,” a song featured in John's new “Battle Studies” album.

Both have had a share of high-profile breakups in the recent past: For Taylor it was her failed relationships with Joe Jonas of The Jonas Brothers and most recently, “Twilight”’s hottest wolf, Taylor Lautner; for John, heartbreak came via singer-actress Jessica Simpson and Hollywood star Jennifer Aniston.

Here’s a timeline about reported "sightings" of the two controversial music superstars together:

Dec. 8, 2009: Together at the launch of VEVO (a music video and entertainment website) in New York City.

Jan. 6, 2010: Tay-tay and John were seen having an “intimate dinner” at Il Ristorante di Giorgio Baldi in Santa Monica.

A source tells Star Magazine: “They came in together and got a private table in a corner of the restaurant. They seemed to really enjoy each other’s company. They definitely looked like a couple. John was telling stories and she was hanging on his every word.”

Jan. 24: Another dinner, this time at Nashville Bistro Cabana. The dinner reportedly lasted for two hours.

Jan. 26: Taylor visited John in Franklin, Tennessee, while taping a segment with Keith Urban for CMT’s “Crossroads.”

A certain "complication" came in the form of Cory Monteith from the hit show, “Glee,” who is said to also be dating Taylor. The two were seen having dinner on Jan. 29 in Los Angeles. The following day, they were also spotted together at the pre-Grammy party of music mogul Clive Davis.

However, another Hollywoodlife.com source maintained: “Cory is just a decoy. She isn’t really dating him. They’re friends.”

Asked to comment on all the speculations, Taylor gave a terse reply to Us Magazine: "I try not to be a complainer, you know?"
