3 siblings hacked to death
CAMP GENERAL VICENTE LIM, Laguna — Three siblings were hacked to death Thursday night while another was unhurt when a suspect barged into their house in Barangay San Ildefonso, Alaminos town, this province, police said Friday.
Senior Insp. Rolando Ildefonso, Alaminos chief of police, said the bodies of the victims — Christina Rafael, 14, and brothers- Jason, 12, and Jerome, 9 — were found by their parents at 11 p.m. Thursday. They all sustained multiple hack wounds.
Investigation showed that the victims were left by their parents who joined a drinking spree and videoke session in their neighborhood at 7 p.m. when the massacre occurred. Johnmil, 6, was already asleep when a suspect arrived. Police said the incident happened between 9 p.m. to 11 p.m. Thursday.
Chief Supt. Rolando Annonuevo, Calabarzon (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, Quezon) police director, said one Rhegan Laguidao, 22, who was seen roaming around the house of the victims prior to the incident, was arrested by the police.
Police verified immediately the background of Laguidao. It was found that the suspect was listed as the most wanted criminal in Sto. Tomas, Batangas and has two standing arrest warrants for murder and grave threats charges.
Based on the testimony of a witness, the suspect went to the house of the Rafael family and allegedly attempted to rape Christina, but her brothers saw the incident and helped the latter.
