Although Taguig Mayor Sigfrido “Freddie” Tiñga has forged alliance with the Liberal Party (LP), the son of a former SC justice said he will not join the “anti-GMA” bandwagon just to win the congressional seat for the city’s second district.

In an interview during a campaign gathering of the LP in Taguig City late Thursday, Tiñga said his political alliance with Senator Benigno Simeon “Noynoy” Aquino III, Senator Manuel “Mar” Roxas II, and the rest of the Liberal Party’s senatorial bets does not mean he has become a critic of the Arroyo Administration.

Although Tiñga has only run and won the mayoral post under Kilusang Diwa ng Taguig of SC Justice Dante Tinga for three terms, he has been perceived as an administration ally because of his cordial relationship with the Palace. But only until last December did Tiñga decide to forge alliance with a national party that is Aquino’s.

“We don’t need to throw tirades against the Arroyo Administration.
We’ve worked closely with the administration and President Arroyo has done a lot of work for Taguig, he said. "But since she’s ending her term, the question now is who’s going to succeed her.
From our point of view, the person who has his heart at the right place is Noynoy.”
