As Valentine’s Day is just around the corner, lovers are now looking for new unforgettable ways to celebrate the big day with their one-and-only-love.

The Peninsula Manila (www.peninsula.com) immediately thought of a-thousand-and-one ways to offer its loyal clientele with romantic evenings that will surely win lovers’ hearts on Valentine’s weekend. The one unique package that is truly fresh and never been done before is its Orange Valentine Package.

I was privileged to have experienced this ultimate concoction of romance and luxury. With the Peninsula’s flair for understated elegance and Hermes’ (www.Hermes.com) distinct legacy of luxury, I knew that I was in for something unforgettable.

As I opened the door to my suite, a blast of fresh orange roses welcomed my arrival. The bed was covered with scattered orange rose petals and the entire room was filled with a citrus scent that made me relax right away. A chilled bottle of Peninsula Champagne and a tray of chocolate-dipped mangoes, apricots, oranges and nectarines were too tempting to resist.

I was super delighted to see an array of Hermes bath and body products of my favourite fragrance, the Eau D’ Orange Verte.

Guests can choose a special dinner package in any of the restaurants of The Pen or a three-course set room service dinner. I opted for the dinner buffet at Escolta where the choices were endless.

The treat that awaited guests the following morning was what made this valentine package extra special.

We were chauffeured on a Mercedes-Benz limousine to the newly opened Hermes boutique in Greenbelt 3 for a private viewing and shopping while continental breakfast was served inside the boutique – an experience that will definitely make Holly Golightly turn green with envy!

Imagine you and your lover all by your two-some having a romantic breakfast (or cocktails depending whichever you desire) inside the Hermes boutique surrounded by the world’s finest leather, most exquisite silk scarves and the most sought after bags and accessories.  This used to be just a dream but is now within your reach this Valentine.

“It’s an invitation to indulge in a dream” said Mariano Garchitorena, PR Director of The Peninsula, Manila. So this Valentine’s Day, orange is the new red.
