Gina Alajar wants to be called ‘Lola G’

Director-actress Gina Alajar is full of excitement not only with her son Ryan Eigemann’s upcoming wedding on Feb. 28, but also because she’s soon to be a lola.

“Nung pinlano nila [Ryan and fiancée] ‘yung wedding, ‘di pa siya buntis. Tapos last December I was surprised when they told me that she’s pregnant,” she recalled on “Startalk.”

When her first grandchild comes out, Gina said she wants to be called “Lola G.”

Gina is also prepared to meet again her estranged husband, Michael de Mesa, when he returns to the country to attend their eldest son’s wedding.

She bets he is disappointed with the resurfacing of the issue that pinpoints Krista Ranillo as the alleged home-wrecker of their marriage.

“I’m sure we can talk about it. We're civilized people naman. I’m sure masama ‘yung loob [niya] because nahalungkat ‘yung issue but what can I do? It’s part of my life... part of my history. So I can retell and retell and retell and retell because it’s the story of my life,” she related.

She added: “[But] knowing him, I don’t think he will entertain… he won’t take his time to answer the intrigues.”

Meanwhile, the veteran actress gave a short comment on the sharp remarks Suzette Ranillo hurled at her.

“Wala. You just wish na hindi mo na lang makasalubong. Pero wala na,” she said.

Paolo Contis’ dad dies

Renato Soru Contis, Paolo Contis’ father, passed away on Feb. 5 due to cancer of the lymph nodes. According to the actor, his father has been battling cancer for seven years.

He said Renato was hoping he can still make it until his granddaughter, Xonia Aitana, is born.

“Sinabi niya sa’min na sana maabutan niya si Xonia. [Naisip namin na] paglabas si Xonia lalakas ‘yan kasi magkakaron na naman siya ng apo,” Paolo recalled on “Startalk.”

Paolo confessed that he not only lost a father, but also, an “idol.”

“Lahat ng tao may insecurity for not being a good father. But you did a good job,” he said.

Renato’s body currently lies at Arlington Funeral Homes. His cremation is scheduled on Feb. 9.
