LBC expands bills payment services
LBC, one of the country’s leading cargo and remittance companies, has expanded its Bills Xpress Payment Service to cover over 20 business enterprises from telecom, water, cable, bank to financial services, insurance and plans to add government accounts, eventually.
From hereon, patrons no longer have to go to several different payments channels and queue up in long lines to pay their utility bills and monthly dues. They can go to any LBC branch in LBCs almost 800 LBC branches and settle multiple bills conveniently.
Now, LBC Bills Xpress covers Globe, Smart, Bayantel, Philippine Long Distance Telephone Co. (PLDT), INNOVE, Belltel, Maynilad, Manila Water, Skycable, Destiny Internet, Pilipino Cable, Cable Link, Insular Life, PhilAm Life, PHILCARE, Paramount Insurance, Cocolife, CocoPlans, Pru Like UK, HSBC, Citibank, MetroBank EastWest Bank, RCBC Bankard, Equicom Savings, Digiprint and Norkis Financials, among other enterprises.
The company’s Bills Xpress Payment System started in 2003. However, “We decided to offer bills service six years ago due to the clamor from our clients,” according to Eduardo Ibazeta, LBC Business Head, LBC Express Solutions.
"Those who regularly use our service suggested we accept bills payment so they can do numerous transactions in just one place,” he pointed out.
As a marketing tool, the bills service also gets more clients into the branches who are then introduced to the core services of courier and remittance.
The company is in continuous negotiations to add more to its list. It is also focusing its attention on untapped markets.
“We already deal with some government institutions like the Department of Foreign Affairs, Professional Regulation Commission and National Statistics Office,” Ibazeta added. “We tailor fit our service to their needs and to those who conduct business with them.”
At present the Bills Xpress Payment Service is only a small slice of LBC’s business. However, Ibazeta feels there is still a lot more room for growth.
“We offer great value to both the merchants and the public,” he explained. "Suddenly a business gets almost 800 collection sites nationwide. The public, in turn, gets a faster and more accessible way to pay their bills 7 days of the week.”
