Abalos to deliver state of city address on Monday
Mandaluyong Mayor Benhur Abalos will deliver Moday his state of the city address before the Sangguniang Panglunsod where he is expected to highlight the economic growth and achievements of what he calls the “Tiger City” on the eve of its celebration of the 16th anniversary as a fullfledged city.
Abalos will thank constituents for their support in helping the city grow economically in the past year, said Jimmy M. Isidro, chief of the Mandalulong Public Information Office.
“He will be expressing his profound gratitude not only to Mandaleños but also to media for their unwavering support and continued cooperation to attain what is Mandaluyong now,” Isidro said.
The state of the city address will be held at the Mandaluong City gymnasium.
Meanwhile, the city has announced a traffic re-routing scheme for Tuesday’s celebration of the 65th Liberation and 16th City Hood of Mandaluyong.
The city government said that Kalentong street from Acacia Lane to Shaw Boulevard will be closed to traffic from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. and the Maysilo Circle from 1 p.m. to 12 midnight.
The following traffic re-routing scheme is recommended: All vehicles from Pasig bound for Manila, Kalentong or San Juan may take Shaw Blvd., then right turn to Mabini St. or Torres St. and left turn to Araullo St. then right to Hoover St., then take Haig St. to Kalentong. Or they can take Ortigas Avenue to go straight to San Juan.
They can also take Shaw Boulevard, turn right to Gomezville and then take a left to Haig St. and Kalentong St. Vehicles from San Juan bound for Makati can take Ortigas Avenue on to Epifanio delos Santos Avenue.
