Cop, eye doctor nabbed in drug bust
A police major and an eye doctor were arrested during an anti-illegal drugs buy-bust operation conducted by anti-narcotics police in Quezon City, police said over the weekend.
Investigator PO3 Jeffrey Flores said Chief Inspector Frederick Cabaccang, who is assigned to Health Service in Camp Crame, and optometrist Catherine Onod were arrested during a drug buy-bust operation conducted by the Quezon City District Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Task Group (DAID-SOTG) last Friday inside the home of the Onod family located along Antique St., Barangay Magsaysay.
Flores said suspected drug pusher Petronilo Onod, Catherine’s husband, managed to escape arrest during the operation.
Police operatives seized two sachets of shabu and assorted drug paraphernalia during the operation, Flores said.
Flores said the DAID-SOTG received information of illegal drug activities in Barangay Magsaysay.
The DAID-SOTG was able to confirm the presence of illegal drug transactions after having bought from Petronilo shabu worth P500 per sachet during test buys.
The DAID-SOTG then set up the buy-bust operation.
