9 groups get 2% support from voters — survey
Of the 187 Comelec-accredited party-list groups, nine groups managed to get more than two percent support from the voters, enough to gain for them two or three seats in the House of Representatives, latest Pulse Asia survey results showed.
The nationwide survey conducted last January 22 to 26 used face-to-face interviews of 1,800 respondents and were shown an alphabetical list of party-list groups to indicate their preference.
Pulse Asia found out that nine party-list groups, namely Bayan Muna, 1-Aangat Pilipino, Anakpawis, Gabriela Women’s Party-list, Akbayan Citizens’ Action Party, Ahon Pinoy, Aangat Tayo, Anak Mindanao, and Abono, garnered support above the two percent threshold.
Pulse Asia noted that if the Supreme Court (SC) formula in its decision of April 21, 2009 is used, 43 party list groups will gain representation if the elections were held at the time of the survey.
