Senator Panfilo Lacson is now officially on the Red Notice list of the Interpol (The International Criminal Police Organization), the head of the National Bureau of Investigation-Interpol Division said Thursday.

“It is now confirmed. We are now waiting for the actions to be taken by 188 member-countries of the Interpol,” said NBI-Interpol Division chief Claro de Castro Jr.

With Lacson on the Interpol Red Notice list, it should now be easier to locate the senator who left the country last month, De Castro said.

Lacson left the country for Hong Kong several days before charges were filed against him in court in connection with the 2000 murders of Salvador “Bubby” Dacer and his driver Emmanuel Corbito Dacer.

“The law enforcers of the member-countries can place Senator Lacson under arrest once they find him.

But it is up to the discretion of member-country of Interpol which will find him whether to arrest him or not. But what is definite, is the member-country will inform the NBI and other law enforcement agencies here in the Philippines about his whereabouts,” he said.
