Valentine’s Day is, according to Jim Carrey’s character in “Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind,” a holiday invented by greeting card companies to make people feel like crap. That may hold true to a certain few, but perhaps not for performers and musicians; because next to the Christmas season, it’s the busiest time of the year for them.

It’s cause for celebration for lovers of music as well, because shows catering to varied tastes abound. Here’s Manila Bulletin Entertainment Online’s gig guide for Hearts Day:

“David Benoit LIVE Manila 2010”

The popular contemporary jazz pianist, composer and conductor returns to treat his Pinoy fans with ageless hits like “Key to You” and “After the Love Has Gone.” Joining him on stage this time is the 60-piece FILharmoniKA orchestra with guest singer Bituin Escalante and sax player Tots Tolentino.
