Liberal Party (LP) standard-bearer for the presidential race Senator Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III Sunday disclosed that what really gets him going is the adrenaline surge as soon as he sees the support of the crowd during campaign sorties.

“Yung pagod mo biglang nawawala,” (You never get tired seeing them), Aquino said, adding that to prepare for the rigors of the campaign he undergoes a little physical fitness exercise like brisk walking.

“I’m hoping we will last until after the election, that’s the important thing. Well, I did it about two years ago perhaps a little bit more intense now for the most part something that is not far from our memory. Others would be six years ago, so we are more prepared now,” Aquino said.

Campaigning is not new to Aquino as he used to campaign for his father Ninoy and mother Cory and for himself when he ran for Congress and eventually the Senate.

Aquino recalled that his first time to speak publicly was at the town plaza of their hometown of Concepcion, Tarlac in 1976 when his father was given an award during martial law.

Last Saturday night Aquino spoke before a mammoth crowd at Plaza Moriones in Tondo, just a spitting distance from the ancestral house of his closest rival, Nacionalita Party bet Senator Manny Villar.

He was joined by Manila Mayor Alfredo Lim, Batangas Gov. Vilma Santos, Senator Francis Pangilinan, former Manila mayor Gemiliano Lopez and Liberal Party senatorial candidates led by former senators Franklin Drilon and Ralph Recto, Rep. Rissa Hontiveros, Rep. Ruffy Biazon, Alex Lacson, Mrs. Sonia Roco, and Rep. Neric Acosta.

“Down the line there are a lot of pressures and frustrations so you should know how to pace yourself so you can resolve these. You should be in the right frame of mind and health while deciding to accomplish important things during the campaign,” Aquino told the Manila Bulletin at the sidelines of his campaign in Tondo.

He said his doctor advised him to take vitamins, supplements and proper hydration while campaigning.

“Ang naging problema ko lang towards the Christmas season ay nagkaroon ako ng sipon nung nagpunta kami ng Legaspi nakidamay dun sa pagputok ng Mayon. Pumasok yung sipon sa middle ear, yun medyo matagal-tagal bago nag resolve. Ngayon okay na wala nang limitations,” Aquino narrated during his campaign sortie in Tondo.

Aquino also revealed that in between activities they are also preparing for the governance aspect as well as responding for all the forums.
