Bike tour lures foreign teams
More than a dozen teams from powerhouse clubs in Europe and Asia expressed interest on participating in the 2010 Le Tour de Filipinas slated April 17 to 20.
European-based teams Arbo KTM Junkers (Germany), Bordeaux (France), CTK (Switzerland), Power Move (Switzerland) and AC Sparta Pharma (Czeck Republic), as well as Medscheme/CPI of South Africa and Prime State of Australia had signified their intention to join the four-stage road race through a written letter to race organizer Dynamic Outsource Solutions, Inc. (DOS-1)-Padyak Pinoy.
The race will consist of a 145-km Tagaytay-Tagaytay Stage 1, 60-km Roxas Boulevard Stage 2, 135-km Quezon City-Subic Stage 3 and 140-km Subic-Subic Stage 4. All are massed start races.
DOS -1 president and Padyak Pinoy chairman Edgardo Cayton said Asian teams refused to be left out, with squads from Iran (Vali Asr Kerman), Japan (Shimano), Taiwan (Giant Asia Racing Team), Singapore (OCBC) and Hong Kong (Collosi) also expecting to compete.
