Kris Aquino became emotional during her birthday celebration on “The Buzz” when she explained the absence of her only brother, Noynoy, in the segment.

“We tried our best talaga na hindi po ako matanggal sa trabaho. Nakita niyo naman kung sino lang ang bumati sa’kin. So sana po, kung nanonood ho kayo ngayon, ang wish ko lang… I can’t broadcast my wish kasi lalo akong matatanggalan ng trabaho. Pero tulungan niyo na lang po kami, kasi ang hangarin lang po namin ay mapabuti ang bayan natin,” she said, her voice cracking.

The Commission on Election (Comelec) has recently issued the Fair Election Act, which restricts celebrities’ from endorsing their respective bets. Noynoy, as previously reported, is the leading presidential candidate according to surveys.

Kris has taken to her newly-created Twitter account her stand on the issue, but reiterated it on the show in a less “defiant” manner.

“Hangarin po namin na magpaka-proper so sana po, Comelec, hindi niyo ho ako tatanggalin ng trabaho talaga, kasi wala naman ho akong binanggit na hindi niyo gugustuhin. At sana po sa mga nanonood sa’min, sana ‘wag kayong pumayag na tanggalan nila ako ng trabaho,” she pleaded.

To lighten up the air, she quipped: “Promise last time ko na magye-yellow. Birthday ko lang naman. Balik na po ako sa black.”

The Queen of All Media was surprised when her three yellow and black-clad sisters, Ballsy Aquino-Cruz, Pinky Aquino-Abellada, and Viel Aquino-Dee, sang “I Will Be Here” together with Jed Madela, Rhap Salazar, Pokwang and Kim Chiu.

She jokingly dubbed the performance as a “laugh trip.”

However, the moment she mentioned her mother, late President Cory Aquino, Kris couldn’t stop her own tears.

“This is for you, Mom. Kasi nakikita mo naman how much we love each other talaga. The best thing that the four of us can do---the five of us actually---is to be here. No matter how sad it is na wala ka na, at least alam mo you brought us up well to be here for each other,” she said.

Also present are her two sons, Joshua and Baby James.

Her better half, cager James Yap, was also a no-show during the live telecast because he has a scheduled game. But in a taped interview, he promised his “Babe” that “Love, love, love na.”

During the show, the “Kung Tayo’y Magkakalayo” star and “Pilipinas Got Talent” judge was given the Certificate of Recognition by World Vision for her financial assistance for less fortunate children’s education.
