Ara Mina, Juliana Palermo in the hot seat
Ex-manager files case against Juliana Palermo
Jojo Gabinete filed a civil case against his ex-ward, Juliana Palermo, for the alleged unpaid commissions amounting to P100,000.
According to the talent manager and entertainment writer’s lawyer, Jun Ambrosio, Jojo followed up on the sexy actress many times for the commission. However, Juliana only gave promises but nothing came after.
Atty. Ambrosio said that while it is a serious case, Juliana will not be held in prison.
“Walang kulong. [Pag utang ang kaso,] hindi ka puwedeng ikulong. Puwede lang kumuha ng gamit sa‘yo,” she explained on “Showbiz Central.”
When sought for a comment, Juliana said she would first seek the advice of her lawyers.
The Ara Mina controversy in Mo’s opinion
DJ and TV host Mo Twister aired his side on Ara Mina’s controversial political interview on his ANC show, “I.M.O. (In My Opinion).”
He denied that he tried to “sabotage” Ara by asking her a different set of questions than what was briefed to her.
“‘Yung mga questions sa script at sa dressing room are the same,” he said on “Showbiz Central.” “‘Yung questions nga binabasa ko na lang sa tele-prompter. This is a political talk show. This is not a show na nagpa-plug ng mga movies or anything. This is something na kung tatakbo ka ng public office and if you’re gonna sit there and talk about politics, you have to be up to the game kasi hindi naman tayo nagtsi-tsismisan dito.
“These are national issues, so even though tumatakbo siya for councilor for Quezon City, importante din ‘yung national issues.”
Mo also clarified that contrary to what Ara said in her interview on "Startalk," he gave her ample support to handle the questions well.
“I think that’s not true. Actually I fed her better than other guests, kasi nga kaibigan ko siya, than another news and current affairs journalist would do,” he said.
He reiterated: “‘Yung point ko naman, kung tatakbo ka for public office you should be ready at all times… it doesn’t matter whether naka-rehearse ‘yung sagot mo or hindi.”
While the ever-controversial host feels bad about the unintended consequence of the interview, he said he “can’t really apologize ‘cause I don’t feel like I did anything wrong.”
“The questions were not about her personal life. They were about national issues,” Mo added.
