Ivler out of hospital in 2-3 weeks – NBI
Road rage shooting suspect Jason Aguilar Ivler is expected to be discharged from the hospital in two to three weeks and will be transferred to the Quezon City Jail, the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) said Friday.
Lawyer Angelito Magno, chief of NBI Special Action Unit (SAU), said they were informed by physicians of the Quirino Memorial Medical Center that he is expected to be discharged in two to three weeks.
“It is just a matter of time,” said Magno, who said NBI will no longer secure Ivler after his turnover to the QC jail.
Last February 16, Ivler pleaded not guilty to charges of murder for the fatal shooting of Malacañang official's son that was triggered by what authorities describe as a case road rage killing.
Ivler, accompanied by his mother Marlene Aguilar and his British diplomat stepfather Stephen Pollard, entered the plea of not guilty before Judge Alexander Balut, of QC regional trial court (RTC) Branch 76.
Meanwhile, Magno said they have affidavits and evidence on whether to file obstruction of justice charges against Pollard and Silangan Manalac-Fune.
Pollard maintained that he was not aware that Ivler was hiding in their house when he was arrested by NBI operatives last January 18.
Ivler’s friend, Fune, who flew from Washington, United States of America (USA), appeared on February 10 at the NBI after she was subpoenaed.
The NBI summoned Fune after the gun found in Ivler’s possession was traced to her.
Fune was subjected to the questioning and escorted to the NBI Identification and Records Division (IRD) for fingerprints and mug shots.
Fune’s lawyer Princess Abante only granted the interview after her client underwent the process.
Fune’s lawyer said her client had no participation in the crime linked to Ivler. She arrived in the Philippines after the November 18 shooting of Renato Victor Ebarle Jr. and January 18 arrest of Ivler.
Ivler was shot and wounded when he traded shots with NBI operatives at their house at 23 Hillside Drive Blue Ridge A Subd., Quezon City last January 18. Two NBI officials were also wounded.
Ivler was tagged in the shooting to death of Ebarle Jr., son of Renato Ebarle Sr. who works in the Office of the Presidential Chief of Staff.
The killing of Ebarle Jr. occurred at the corner of Boni Serrano Ave.and Granada Streets in Quezon City. Ebarle was shot dead after he and a man armed with .45 caliber pistol figured in a near collision on November 18.
