After successfully defending his WBA interim superflyweight title, Nonito "the Filipino Flash" Donaire hinted on joining the local entertainment industry.

Donaire was given a warm welcome by fans at the airport upon his arrival from the US where he successfully defended his title from challenger Manuel "Chango" Vargas.

Nonito together with his wife Rachel planed in aboard a Philippine Airlines flight from Hong Kong.

"I am very thankful to God for giving me the strength, and to the fans as well for giving me their full support during the fight," Donaire said upon his arrival at the airport.

"Your support gave me the courage and determination to win!" Donaire added.

The superflyweight champ said he will stay in Manila for a couple of days before flying to Cebu to visit Z Gorres.

"I want to visit him in Cebu and give him financial and moral support," the boxing champ said.

When asked what his plans for the near future are, Donaire hinted that he will try out showbusiness and do several appearances in different shows of GMA network.

It was learned that GMA will be producing a new sitcom with Donaire as one of the stars.

Asked when he and his wife will start a family, the young boxer laughed then said, "for now, Bolt will have to do." Bolt is Donaire's dog who doubles as his running partner while in the country.

Plans for his next fight are still being prepared by Cameron Dunkin, his manager, although he said he wants to move up to the bantamweight division and fight with Fernando Montiel.

When asked if he wants to take revenge on Montiel for defeating Filipino boxer Ciso Morales, Donaire said "No. I want to fight him (Montiel) because he's a good boxer."
