Adamson batters in UAAP finals
Defending champion Adamson earned another trip to the finals after eliminating De La Salle, 10-6, last Thursday in the 72nd UAAP baseball tournament at the Rizal Memorial Baseball Stadium.
Behind the bats of shortstop Jenald Pareja and outfielder Joselito Bermoza, the Falcons scattered 13 hits in the contest to reach the finals for the second time in three seasons and move closer to a third straight crown.
The squad coached by Orlando Binarao bagged its first title by beating University of Santo Tomas in the 2008 finals. The Falcons made it two straight by sweeping the 10-game elimination round in 2009 for the outright championship.
Adamson will meet the winner between University of the Philippines and National University which will play a do-or-die game on Sunday.
Pareja, an 18-year-old infielder from Makati City, went four for four and had two runs batted in (RBI) as he helped Adamson take a 5-0 lead after three innings. — Jonas Terrado
