Valenzuela City has celebrated its 12th cityhood anniversary by honoring the city's top taxpayers.

Mayor Sherwin Gatchalian also took the occasion to report his administration's accomplishments, plans and programs.

The top taxpayers, coming from the different levels of the city's business sector, gathered during the "Annual Taxpayers' Night" held at the Valenzuela Convention Center grounds.

Gatchalian told the taxpayers that major infrastructure projects in the city have been completed particularly
the road improvements, the building of several new classrooms and the repair of old ones.

In his report to the taxpayers, the city mayor also said that aside from the new school buildings, the city government distributed free textbooks and workbooks as part of its comprehensive education program.

He also told the taxpayers that numerous infrastructure projects such as the Valenzuela City Hall of Justice, the Social Hall Building, and People's Center and Legislative Building have been completed or in near completion.

On medical, social and security services, the city executive announced that a new headquarters for the city police will soon be built aside from the 10-machine Dialysis Center.

He also announced that 900 victims of tropical storm “Ondoy” in the city will soon occupy housing units in relocation center named the "Disiplina Village."
