Whitney Houston says tour is going great despite fan complaints

Whitney Houston’s six-date tour of Australia is seemingly not going well if reports of fan complaints, walk outs and even demands of ticket refunds are considered. Some complaints were also logged that Houston sang off key and looked exhausted, with concert-goers even posting clips of her less-than-satisfactory performance on YouTube.
Despite the negative reactions to her shows on Monday and her reported similarly lackluster performance in Sydney on Wednesday, Houston’s publicist dismissed rumors that the 46-year-old singer is having health problems.
The Daily Telegraph newspaper carried their statement: "Whitney is in great health and having a terrific time on her tour and with her fans… Her fans were dancing and singing along with her and Whitney appreciates their support."
This is Houston’s first tour in Australia in 22 years, but unfortunately, disgruntled fans and ticket holders have already taken to the Internet to express their disappointment.
Some have said she barely finished some of her songs, struggled to hit the high notes and were sometimes seen trying to catch her breath. One blogger even said she stopped in the middle of a song to get a towel and re-apply make-up.
The most vocal concert-goers agreed on the Web that if the “I Will Always Love You” hit-maker knew she wasn’t in good singing shape that she should not have come back on stage.
Her Australian promoter Andrew McManus nevertheless dismissed the criticisms and said that he was proud to be associated with Houston, whom he called “an amazing talent.” He reportedly went on to say that if people wanted to hear the diva of 20 years ago, they should go and buy a CD.
Houston—who, prior to the tour, had spent years battling drug addiction and a bad bout of marriage with fallen R&B singer, Bobby Brown—may have had her “One Moment in Time” as a major hit-maker back in the '80s and '90s, but her continuous career problems are not doing her any favors.
Still, after she wraps up her Australian tour in Perth on March 7, she heads to France and Britain in April with her "Nothing but Love" World Tour.
