Vice Ganda recently hit back at his detractors after a barrage of negative publicity about him came out in the tabloids.

Stand-up comedian Vice Ganda was rushed to St. Luke's Hospital after he collapsed from stress right after his stint on “Showtime” on February 26.

The comedian was advised by his doctors to take a rest to regain his strength.

“Sumayaw ‘yan the other day yata. Napaso ng ilaw doon sa ‘Showtime.’ Wala lang, pinapalinis niya lang. [Ang kaso] me trauma yata sa wound. Parang nahilo so nanghina. Itinakbo namin sa clinic,” said Bobet Vidanes, “Showtime” creator and director.

But fans of the comedian need not worry. “He’s okay now. Nakakausap naman [siya]. Some tests naman na ginawa noong doctor, lab tests, physical tests [ay okay],” he added.

In a previous interview re-aired by SNN Friday, Vice Ganda said he’s not about to get affected by intrigues being hurled at him of late.

“Sa mga intriga, naku, sabi nga nila, pangkaraniwan na nating naririnig ‘yan. Ang pikon, talo. Kung pikon ka, ‘wag mo akong pakinggan. Kung pikon ka, ‘wag mo akong panoorin kasi kung panoorin mo ako at pikon ka, ikaw ang matatalo kasi hind ako magpapatalo sa inyo. Pasensiya na,” he said.

Vice Ganda takes pride in his being gay and is not at all apologetic for being a member of the third sex.

His forthcoming concert at the Araneta Coliseum in May will be a celebration of his sexuality.

“Maraming baklang nagtagumpay pero hindi alam ng tao na bakla sila. Ngayon, ako lang yata na nag-iisang (nagsabi) na bakla ako at kasama sa tagumpay ko ang pagiging bakla ko. Kaya selebrasyon ng lahat ng bakla ang araw na iyon.”

Vice Ganda had recently hit back at his detractors after a barrage of negative publicity about him came out in the tabloids. One alleged that the comedian tried to invite a male dancer (who appeared in his show) to a sex tryst. And when he was reportedly turned down, he gave a very low grade to the guy’s group, which led to the group’s fall in the weekly finals.

“Sabihin n’yo na lahat ng sasabihin n’yo sa akin sa dyaryo. Hindi ninyo ako mapapahinto,” he lashed out.

“Feeling ko naman dina-down nila ako hindi dahil gusto nila akong ma-down. Feeling ko, kaya nila ako dina-down, ang gusto nilang i-down [ay] ang show, ang 'Showtime,'” he said in a taped interview on "Showbiz News Ngayon," February 18.

Aside from being the resident judge of “Showtime,” Vice Ganda is all set to star in the remake of the classic Roderick Paulate comic hit “Petrang Kabayo.”
