The Torque D110 "heavy" Metal

This is my first time to use Torque. I’ve seen old models of this brand, and I’m impressed by how it evolved into much more attractive and advanced units. Torque has definitely caught my eye with the D110 Metal.

The phone’s attractiveness was enhanced by its silver and black metal case. It is a normal sized phone. So, it’s easy to grip. It can be a bit heavier than other phones, but it’s not too heavy. The keypad is atypical and made of metal. The phone’s overall design makes it look expensive.

I find this phone very practical and convenient to use, especially now that most people have more than just one sim. Torque D110 Metal is a Dual Sim phone. You need not turn off nor switch to a different setting in using one card to another. The user has the option to either activate both at the same time or use just one. What’s more convenient about it is that both sims can have different call, SMS, MMS, security and network settings.

Torque D110 Metal has dial keys for each sim. So, it’s easy and fast by simply typing in the number you want to call, and pressing SIM 1 or SIM 2 dial key. However, making calls using numbers from the phone book can take a few more steps because you have yet to confirm which sim you want to call from. Nonetheless, you can assign up to nine quick dial up keys for your contacts.

You can do a lot to both of your sim cards without a sweat with this phone. You won’t even have a hard time transferring files from sim 1 to sim 2. Your contacts, for example, can be easily copied or transferred from sim 1 to sim 2 or vice-versa by simply clicking on the command. You also have the option to store all of your contacts in your phone since it can store up to 1,000 names.

There are also advanced features in this phone. You can access the internet via WAP. There are settings already available on the phone, but it’s best to contact your network provider first to use this function. It can be quite hard to request for a GPRS configuration for this phone just yet, but now that Torque is becoming more and more popular these days, I’m sure network providers would be able to offer a suitable configuration for this one.

Torque D110 also has multimedia functions such as 1.3 MP (compatible) camera with video recorder. Effect settings such as grayscale, sepia and color invert may be pretty common for phones with cameras, but this is my first time to use a phone that offers the same settings in the video recorder. Video playback can also be done scene by scene, and the speed can be adjusted according to your preference.

Other features include an e-book reader, FM radio and an audio player. The phone’s internal memory is quite low, but the phone’s memory can be expanded up to 2GB with a microSD card. The e-book reader supports .txt file which won’t take up too much space.
