CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY – The Western Mindanao Command (WesMinCom) of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) announced the completion of the reconstructed schoolbuildings of the Lanao Agricultural College (LAC) in Lanao del Sur province.

Lt. Gen. Benjamin Dolorfino, chief of WesMinCom, said the Joint Special Operations Task Force-Philippines (JSOTF-P) has turned over two newly reconstructed schoolbuildings to the LAC administrators on Monday.

According to the WesMinCom chief, the reconstruction works of the two school buildings were completed by the Naval Mobile Construction Battalion 1 (NCMB 1), which is assigned to the JSOTF-P.

It was gathered that the reconstruction works started in June 2009 by the NCMB 40, which was replaced by the NCMB 1 in August last year and was only completed last week.

The two schoolbuildings include a 5,800-square-foot administration building, and a 1,000-square-foot science building.

Within the school compound, the project also includes a complete septic system, electrical power distribution, lighting, fans, and a generator.

School faculty officials led by Jasmine Asum greatly benefit from the project jointly undertaken by the United States (US) troops and local residents in the province of Lanao del Sur.

According to Dolorfino, some other similar projects are still being undertaken by JSOTF-P in various areas.

The WesMinCom also conducted some Kalayaan Barangay Projects (KBP), he added.
