Inventor makes 3-in-1 fire truck
A group of Filipino science advocates has endorsed the use of a Filipino-made fire truck to minimize damage and save lives from fire incidents this fire-prevention month of March.
Angelo B. Palmones, president of AGHAM or Alyansa ng mga Grupong Haligi ng Agham at Teknolohiya para sa Mamamayan, said the Anos fire truck, named “Patriot,” may yet be the most reliable partner in fire-fighting because it is a three in-one package: a fire truck, a rescue vehicle, and ambulance.
The “Patriot” was invented by Inventor Alfredo M. Anos, Sr., known as the godfather of Filipino inventors. He has made more than 44 inventions and innovations which earned multi-level recognition.
“Its triple capability allows firefighters and emergency workers to simultaneously put out fire, rescue people and animals, and provide first aid treatment to the injured. The ambulance and rescue fire truck uses compressed air foam system that is five to seven times more efficient than plain water in putting out fire,” Palmones said in a statement.
“More importantly, the ‘Patriot’ is wholly Filipino-made fire truck manufactured locally. It costs a lot cheaper than its imported counterparts. It can respond to fire alarm faster than the conventional bulky trucks that we see around,” he added.
Anos’ other inventions include the Anos Fire Boat, Anos Fire Rescue, Portable Fire Pump, Earth Boring Device, Life-Saving Blood Plasma Sheller, Anti-Storm Moderator, and the Variable Color Monolight.
“There is also the Wind-Powered Generator that provides emergency and temporary source of power during brownouts. It has a built-in generator-battery and fluorescent lamps that can be used in buildings and offices in Metro Manila, as well as in remote villages,” Palmones said.
