Joint leaders Excelroof and Cossack Blue try to keep their unblemished records intact when they battle separate rivals this Thursday in the 2010 PBL PG Flex-Erase Placenta Cup at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City.

The Excelroof 25ers will be put to another test as they face the title favorites Cobra Energy Drink Ironmen at 2 p.m. in a game that will pit two of the hottest collegiate stars of the country – Paul Lee of Cobra and Jimbo Aquino of Execelroof.

The Cossack Spirits, on the other hand, take on the Ani-FCA Cultivators at 4 p.m. with the Spirits heavily favored to prevail.

Like the Excelroof 25ers, the Spirits have shrugged low expectations by winning their first three games, including a thrilling 91-90 overtime win over sister-team Cobra.

Bannered mostly by players from the NCAA champion San Sebastian and its coach Ato Agustin, the 25ers defeated Ascof Lagundi, Ani-FCA and AddMix by an average of 13 points.

But Agustin believes that their clash with the Ironmen could determine how far they could go this conference.

"Dito namin masusukat kung saan patungo itong team na ito at kung capable ba kami na mag-champion," said Agustin, whose squad seemed to be a bit burned against AddMix after some of his San Sebastian cagers played in last week's CHEd National Games.

James Martinez is again expected to lead the Spirits after torching the Ironmen with 24 points.

Aside from Martinez, Cossack will also rely on Jorel Canizares, Earn Saguindel, Raffy Reyes, and burly big man JR Taganas, who is leading the league in rebounds with an average of 15.0 per game.

Cossack coach Rene Baena won't be around due to a commitment to a friend in Malaysia but he’s confident his boys carry out this mission.

The Cultivators are coming off a disappointing 81-78 defeat at the hands of Fern-C two days ago but are hoping to play better this time behind James Sena, Christian Luanzon, Neil Pascual, and Jopher Custodio.
