The United States government can help the Filipino people choose their next President wisely by exposing who are receiving the support of drug lords, Sen. Francis "Chiz" Escudero said Thursday.

Aside from expressing its concern of the involvement of drug money in Philippine politics, Escudero said that the US government should give its intelligence report to local authorities or expose it through the Philippine media on who are receiving the support of drug syndicates.

This is important so that any Philippine president is not tied down or held by the neck by drug lords, he added.

Escudero said there may be a basis for the US to say that drug money is flowing in Philippine politics and that the US should go one step further by identifying those supported by drug lords so that the electorates could be guided accordingly.

Moreover, these presidential bets would be afforded the time to defend themselves or deny such allegations, he said.

If they also know, local authorities should also tell what they know and not to keep such intelligence reports to themselves ‘’so that people will not vote for those supported by drug money or involved in illegal drugs, he said.
