Angelica Panganiban dismissed the rumor that Derek replaced her with a dancer on TV.

Just like her boyfriend Derek Ramsay, Angelica Panganiban denied their high-profile split rumors with surprising coolness.

“Hindi naman kami naghiwalay, eh,” she quipped during a taped interview aired on “Showbiz News Ngayon,” March 5.

The well-publicized separation has been in the limelight for a week now, with various versions to it. One report said that Angelica’s unreasonable fits of jealousy caused Derek to lose his cool and initiate the breakup. Another said that a member of EB Babes, Saida Diola, was the third wheel in the couple’s separation.

Well, none of these seems to be true. What Angelica admitted to was a misunderstanding with Derek, which was not at all grave enough to merit a final separation.      

“'Yong misunderstanding namin, totoo naman 'yon. Sinasabi namin normal naman 'yon. Hindi naman maganda na mauwi kami sa sigawan or sa sagutan. Mas maganda 'yong meron naman kaming space talaga,” explained the “Rubi” star.

Is she jealous of Derek’s women followers?

“Sandali lang naman. Parang ang tagal-tagal ko na po sa industriya so alam ko na yata 'yong pasikot-sikot dito. Walang katotohanan 'yon. Bakit ako magseselos sa fans. Hello? Dapat nga, eh, mahalin natin sila dahil kung hindi dahil sa kanila, wala si Derek, wala ako."

Angelica also dismissed the rumor that Derek replaced her with a dancer on TV.

“Actually, tinawagan niya ako last night tungkol doon. Tinatanong niya kung ano ang EB Babes. Akala niya pangalan ang EB Babes.”

Earlier, Derek, in a phone-patch interview with Jobert Sucaldito on his radio program in DZMM aired March 5, denied the breakup rumor. 

“Medyo weird nga. What Sir Ricky Lo wrote, tama naman siya. We did go through...not naman breakup. Each relationships, may mga problema 'yan. At sinabi ko sa kanya na kaya siguro kami nagtatagal ni Angel is because 'yong mga problemang iyon, we work hard para ayusin. ‘Di ba lagi ko namang sinasabi na ayoko 'yong kunwari may problema right on the spot ayusin mo. Hindi puwede kung mataas ang emotions mo, kung galit ka pa. You have to clear out the thoughts. Kapag kalmado ka na, doon kayo mag-usap. Meron kaming pinagdaanan na gap na ganoon but it was very brief. Yeah, we did have a problem, we did separate a bit, pero we fixed it. As of now, everything is okay,” Derek explained.

He didn’t deny that he knows Saida Diola. He admitted meeting her and hanging out with her and some friends.

“I know Saida. I met her kasi naglalaro ako ng basketball sa Ynares gym. 'Yong isang teammate ko, girlfriend yata siya o ['yong] best friend ni Saida. Doon ko siya nakilala. Ipinakilala sa akin. And a bunch of us, after that, as friends, lumabas kami. Doon siguro ako nakita. I don’t know why na sinasabi nila na pinagpalit ko na si Angel.”

What he did deny is the rumor that he gave Saida a diamond ring.

“No. Alam mo, mawala na lahat sa buhay ko if that is true. There’s no truth to it.”

He apologized to his girlfriend Angel and Saida.

“Actually, I’d like to apologize to Angel, of course, for having all these rumors. At siyempre kay Saida rin na walang ginagawa 'yong tao tapos nali-link din siya, nababanggit ang pangalan niya. I sent Saida a text message apologizing na nadadamay pa 'yong name niya. From the beginning of my showbiz career, I’ve never denied my friends, whether guys or girls. I have the same friends that I had when I started in show business and I’ve met some new friends. This is how I am. I cannot deny my friends. They’re important to me.”
