A proposed ordinance prohibiting the use of sidewalks for bathing and washing clothes was filed in Barangay San Antonio, Quezon City to remove eyesores and encourage pedestrians to use the said pathways for their safety.

Kagawad Arlyn Guillermo expressed the barangay’s aim to clear sidewalks within their territorial jurisdiction of unsightly obstructions in line with Barangay Chairman Ernesto Berroya’s ‘Ang Ganda, kapag Nilinis ang Bangketa’ program.

Proposed Ordinance No. 03S-2010 states that bathing and washing clothes on sidewalks are indecent and its practice causes sidewalks to become slippery, thus, endangering the welfare of pedestrians.
