Matibag is new general manager of MIAA

Lawyer Melvin A. Matibag was sworn-in as thenew general manager of the Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) Monday afternoon in Malacañang Palace with President Arroyo officiating the oath.
Matibag took over the place of Alfonso Cusi, who has been assigned to head the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) of the Philippines.
Prior to his appointment as airport general manager, Matibag was Cusi's Head Executive Assistant and the concurrent Terminal Manager of Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 3.
His first stint at the NAIA was in August, 2009 as assistant general manager for operations.
A native of San Pedro, Laguna, Matibag graduated from the University of Santo Tomas in 1991 with a degree in Bachelor of Arts, Major in Philosophy. He also attended the Ateneo de Manila School of Law in Makati and graduated in 1996. Matibag holds a Master's Degree in Corporate and Finance Law from the Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan.
Matibag is married to Ruby Jane Coros-Matibag, a registered nurse. They have one child, Renae Abrielle.
