Ivler can not stay at detention facility — NBI
The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) said Tuesday that Jason Aguilar Ivler could not stay at the bureau detention facility during the entire trial of his murder case but only during the wound care.
This was stressed by lawyer Angelito Magno, chief of Special Action Unit (SAU), in the event the Quezon City regional trial court (RTC) grants the omnibus motion filed by the Department of Justice (DoJ), seeking that Aguilar be detained at the NBI since he is already ready for outpatient treatment.
“Judge Alexander Balut of QC RTC Branch 74 will still hear the motion of the DOJ this Thursday and we will still wait for the decision of the court. In the event that the court grants the motion, then the NBI will put him under detention at the NBI,” he said.
But Magno said that Aguilar cannot stay at the NBI detention facility during the entire proceeding of his murder case. “Once he recuperates from his wound, we will request that he be transferred to the Quezon City Jail,” he said.
Dr. Enrico Ragaza, the surgery department chairman at the National Kidney and Transplant Institute said Ivler’s wound could be attended to even without his continued stay at the Quirino Memorial Medical Center (QMMC). (Jeamma Sabate)
