Could it be true that actress Jennylyn Mercado is planning to bolt out of manager Becky Aguila's stable?

The young mom, a Manila Bulletin Entertainment Online source whispered, is just intending to finish the remainder of her contract with Becky after which she will scout for a new manager.

Just last year, Jennylyn and Becky signed up a co-management deal with Viva Artist Agency. Jen also signed up for a film and recording contract with the company.

Valerie Concepcion, another one of Becky's wards, also signed up a team management and film agreement with Viva.

Despite this development in their careers, Valerie and Jennylyn remain a Kapamilya and a Kapuso, respectively.

In an interview, Aguila said that the co-management agreement will provide Jen and Valerie more career options. She said that as young single moms, Jen and Valerie should explore more career opportunities as they have children to raise.

Jennylyn is being considered to play one of the lead roles in the remake of “Working Girls.” Other actresses being eyed to play major parts are Ruffa Gutierrez, Cristine Reyes and Eugene Domingo.

A few years ago, Jennylyn was reported to have been planning to leave Aguila’s roster of talents. But this did not happen and the actress denied having planned such in previous interviews.

Aguila’s former wards include Joross Gamboa —who is now being managed by Noel Ferrer; and Angel Locsin, who opted out her contract just recently.

Angel is now being managed by Ethel Ramos, Aga Muhlach’s manager. Angel and Aga are set to film their first movie together under Star Cinema.
