Nacionalista Party (NP) vice presidential candidate Senator Loren Legarda Wednesday assured the people that if she wins in the coming May 10 polls, she will be a devoted vice president and will make it sure that the people will continue to trust the government by delivering the needed basic services.

In a radio interview, Legarda said her president, referring to NP standard bearer Manny Villar, can sleep well, stressing she can be trusted to do her job as the nation's vice president. She strongly believed that Villar will bag the presidency citing his leadership skill and managerial experience.

"I will be a 24/7 vice president. My president can sleep well. And I will make sure that the people will regain trust in the government because I will give heart to the government," Legarda said.

Asked what position she wanted aside from being vice president in case she wins, Legarda said she will leave it to her President, emphasizing again that Villar knows her talent, competence and advocacies.

Although she is the chairman of the Senate Committee on Agriculture, Legarda is known for her advocacies on climate change that has a big impact on the environment. One of her successful programs since she became a lawmaker is the planting of more than a miliion trees nationwide.

To emphasize her dedication, Legarda said she will cooperate with the President in addressing pressing problems besetting the nation including poverty, graft and corruption, healthcare and environmental degradation.

Legarda predicted that Villar will win the presidency, saying Villar has all the qualities of a good leader to improve the quality of life of the Filipino people.

Legarda is not affected by the latest results of Pulse Asia and Social Weather Stations surveys where LP vice presidential bet Mar Roxas showed widening the lead over her, saying the real survey will be in the May 10 elections.

"While I respect those survey firms, I am not surprised at all by the results because my closest opponent, (Senator Roxas), has been campaigning for almost three years now while I started my campaign only on Feb. 9 this year. "
