TAGBILARAN CITY, Bohol (PNA) — An additional 177 barangays received financial aid of P50,000 each for their respective development projects from the provincial government last week during Governor Erico Aumentado’s rounds covering five towns in Bohol’s second district.

Assistant Provincial Treasurer Primitiva Ontong and Governor Aumentado distributed checks to each of the 25 barangays in Talibon on March 2, making the birthday of Mayor Juanario Item memorable.

Aumentado, Dr. Mutya Tirol-Macuno (representing Provincial Board Member Amalia Tirol), Association of Barangay Captains (ABC) Executive Vice-President Dr. Romulo Cepedoza, and barangay officials in Talibon gathered at the Mayor Item’s San Agustin property.

From Talibon, Aumentado and Ontong motored to Bien Unido to distribute checks to 13 of 15 barangays in Bien Unido that have already finalized the profile of their priority development projects.

To express gratitude to the many assistance that they received from the provincial government, the 13 barangay captains issued a manifesto of support to Aumentado with a promise to sustain the programs started in his administration.

The manifesto was signed by Barangay Captains Dionesio Sereño of Hingotanan West, Romil Librado of Pinamgo, Romero Lumanta of Poblacion, Leodigario Bazar of Sagasa, Ramon Arcenal of Nueva Estrella, Rolando Morales of Liberty, Feliciano Padillo of Bilangbilangan East, Veer Angelo Autida of Tuboran, Rico Garcia of Puerto San Pedro, Roberto Laride of Malingin, Rosemarie Boniel of Mandawa, Lina Baculpo of Bilangbilangan West, and Leonilo Baculpo of Hingotanan East.

The next day, five of the 20 barangays received their cheques of R50,000 each after Aumentado inspected the two-classroom building constructed under the Kilos Asenso convergence strategy.
