Former agrarian reform secretary Roberto “Obet” Pagdanganan Thursday expressed disappointment over how Liberal Party standard bearers Senators Noynoy Aquino and Mar Roxas interpret the issue regarding the gubernatorial seat in the province of Bulacan.

Pagdanganan, in a media forum last Wednesday at Greenhills, San Juan City, said that the ongoing dispute between him and Gov. Joselito “Jon-jon” Mendoza is not a party-related matter. “It's not true that Mendoza lost because he was a member of the Liberal Party (LP). In fact, he joined LP when he lost.”

Pagdanganan, who is running for Congress under the Nacionalista Party in the May 10 elections, added that his conflict with Mendoza is a matter of truth and justice. He said he will wait for the final decision from the Supreme Court on March 16 and will not ask any help from his party.

The Commission on Elections (Comelec) en banc issued last March 4, 2010 a ruling, declaring Pagdanganan as the rightful governor of Bulacan and a cease and desist order was issued to Mendoza to vacate the gubernatorial post.
