Geneva on KC: 'We have grown apart.'

Singer Geneva Cruz and former MTV VJ KC Montero have called it quits.

The news was relayed by veteran journalist Ricky Lo in his column for Philippine Star.

“We still love each other very much,” Geneva Cruz told Lo in an exclusive interview, “but then, we have grown apart.”

The news seemingly confirmed what many had been speculating all along.

The couple, once inseparable, had been seen without each other for some time now.

Cruz flew back to Manila all by her lonesome two years ago, after having lived with Montero in the US for years, sparking rumors that there was trouble in the marriage.

Although KC soon followed, the rumor never did die down.

“There’s no third party,” said Geneva.

The couple had been together for almost a decade.

They were married in 2004 in a small ceremony at the Millers’ place in Seattle, Washington State, USA.

Cruz was previously married to musician Paco Arespacochaga, with whom she has a son, Heaven, now 14.

Geneva and KC's union didn't bear a child.
