Noynoy rejects botox

ZAMBOANGA CITY – If only Liberal Party (LP) presidential bet Senator Benigno Simeon “Noynoy” Aquino III heeded his youngest sister’s advice to undergo facelift, then he should now be in the company of another high-profile candidate rumored to have undergone Botox.
Television host and actress Kris Aquino disclosed Wednesday she had advised her brother Noynoy to undergo facial cosmetics surgery to help enhance his face value, especially as he have been more visible in roaming around the country to campaign for his presidential bid.
Although Noynoy heeded Kris’ advice to improve his fashion sense and take medications to cure his balding head, he however declined to get Botox.
“It’s always a big deal for people to see how you look and present yourself in public. I actually advised him to undergo Botox because of the visible lines and wrinkles in his forehead but then he dismissed it, saying that I’m trying to experiment with his face,” Kris shared with reporters during the sidelines of the LP’s political rally held at the Joaquin F. Enriquez Sports Complex in this city.
An endorser of a high-end facial skin care center herself, Kris also recounted that whenever her family dines with Noynoy, which is usually during Sundays, she brings along her stylist and makeup artist to advice the 50-year-old bachelor on how to present himself well.
“He takes it lightly and says I’m just trying to transform him into someone like John Lloyd Cruz,” she added laughing, referring to a matinee idol.
But while Kris has numerous advices on fashion and make-over tips for Noynoy, she failed to have one in terms of dealing with intrigues and personal attacks on her brother.
“It’s always him who gives the advice. Whenever intrigues hit me, his staple text message would be ‘Kristina, relax,’” she said.
But when asked if she considers Noynoy ready to face intrigues, Kris merely said her brother has been really tough in handling his critics.
“Nobody really wants a chaotic life but I think anybody who enters politics should be ready [to face criticisms] in the same way that those who wanted to be famous enters show business should be ready [to face intrigues]. You cannot get the glory, fame and adulation if you haven’t heard the worst of all intrigues. And as for me, Noynoy has been really strong through it all,” she said.
And when asked if she thinks Noynoy needs a First Lady should he win the presidency, Kris only made a brief comment.
“It’s up to him. He’s already 50 years old,” she said. Kris was rumored to dislike Noynoy’s girlfriend, Valenzuela Councilor Shalani Soledad, given the two’s huge age gap.
But if Noynoy remains a bachelor, Kris said she can’t fill in the role of a First Lady because they might just fight.
“It is up to him if he wants his sisters to play active roles in his administration. If he wins the presidency, he calls the shots. As his sisters, we will do whatever we can to help our brother,” she added.
