Ruby Rose's family lauds DoJ decision
The family of former actress and beauty queen Rochelle Barrameda lauded Friday the decision of the Department of Justice (DoJ) as the indictment of the ex-husband of her murdered sister Ruby Rose Barrameda-Jimenez and his father for parricide and murder charges, respectively stays.
While Rochelle and her family lauded the DoJ for granting their motion for reconsideration (MR) to indict Ruby Rose’s ex-husband Manuel Jimenez III, also known as “Third,” for parricide charges, they said that they would appeal the DoJ’s ruling which cleared Navotas businessman Lope Jimenez, uncle of Third.
The murder indictment of Third’s father and Ruby Rose’s father-in-law, lawyer Manuel Jimenez Jr., stays, the DoJ said.
Rochelle also expressed concern over the DoJ’s ruling clearing Lope because this would discourage their witness to testify for the prosecution during trial. “But the fight for justice will go on. We will not give up.”
The DoJ has ordered the withdrawal of the information for murder against Lope in connection with the gruesome death of Ruby Rose.
But the DoJ junked the plea of Ruby Rose’s ex-husband Manuel Jimenez III, to be cleared of the case.
