DAVAO CITY – Mayor Rodrigo Duterte is humbled by the latest recognition he got by landing in the top 47 of the Reader’s Digest survey of the most trusted individuals in the Philippines.

In his television program “Gikan sa Masa, Para sa Masa” Sunday, Duterte said it is a big honor for him and his family to be recognized as among the most trusted individual in the country even besting several presidents and presidentiables in the survey.

It was learned that among politicians included in the list, Duterte was in top five slot besting other politicians like Dick Gordon (48), Chiz Escudero (50), Joker Arroyo (52), Manny Villar (60), Fidel Ramos (62), Noli de Castro (63), Gilbert Teodoro (65), Bongbong Marcos (73), Imee Marcos (74), Imelda Marcos (77), Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo (78), and Joseph Estrada (79).

The other four politicians in the list who performed better than Duterte are Noynoy Aquino (5), Vilma Santos (17), Mar Roxas (24), and Alfredo Lim (41).

In the same survey, politician is however the least trusted profession being in the last slot among top 40 trusted professions. Pilot tops the list followed by teacher, surgeon, farmer, and doctor as the top 5 most trusted professions in the country.

This could be the reason why out of 80 most trusted individuals, only 17 politicians were included in the list and only Duterte was among the local officials from Mindanao.

Duterte meanwhile offered the recognition to his family and children and refused to further discuss the issue on his TV program saying he would rather have other Dabawenyos talk about it.
